Workers' Compensation Administration

The primary goal of an effective workers' compensation claim administration program is the reduction of medical cost and lost work time associated with on-the-job employee injuries. Bergen Risk Managers combines aggressive claim handling and medical cost containment strategies to achieve this goal.
Case Management
All cases are managed from the point of injury through return to work. This approach ensures that case management is initiated promptly. A preferred provider network is organized to meet the specific needs of each client. Providers are compensated in accordance with pre-negotiated discounts. All services beyond the initial visit require pre-certification, and cases are monitored to ensure that service meets the employee's needs, while keeping lost work time to a minimum. Medical and nurse case management is used as required to ensure the proper oversight of complex cases. Ongoing communication is maintained between the employer, provider and patient to ensure cost effective and timely case management and control.
Claims Administration
Bergen Risk provides the full range of services needed to ensure efficient claims administration. Loss reserves are prudently maintained and controlled. All medical fees are audited using state of the art computer based systems, and are paid in accordance with client specifications. Determination of disability is managed professionally and with the full support of expert medical opinion. Employee payments are made directly from Bergen Risk at the direction of the employer. Video surveillance, litigation and subrogation are used as appropriate to ensure the validity of every claim, and the most cost effective outcome for the employer.
